Valentine’s Drop and Date (Ages 3-10)
Friday, February 12, 5-8pm
Have a “hearty” date with someone special as your children participate in our Valentine’s Drop and Date. Your children will meet new friends while you enjoy your romantic evening. Kids will take part in swimming, arts and crafts, and snacks. The Event is open to members and Kids Out participants.

6th Annual Indoor Triathlon
Sunday, March 7; starts at 7am
How far can you go in 60 minutes? This competition consists of 20 minutes of swimming; riding a stationary bike for 20 minutes and finishing up with a run on a treadmill for 20 minutes. Distances are calculated to determine winners. You may compete as an individual or as part of a 2 or 3 person relay team. T-shirts are given to participants who register prior to February 21st

Easter Pancake Breakfast & Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 27
Join us for an Easter celebration filled with fun. Take part in our pancake breakfast, egg hunt, crafts activities, and get your picture take with the Easter Bunny. Have children dress warmly in case of chilly weather and wear sneakers or comfortable shoes suitable for the outdoors. Space is limited for this popular event, so be sure to register at the welcome center early.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day
Saturday, April 17
Part of YMCA Activate America, Healthy Kids Day is an annual event that supports the healthy growth and development of kids. YMCA Activate America is a national initiative tat is rallying YMCAs across the country to further assist families who want to lead a healthy lifestyle, but struggle to do so. In addition, YMCAs are making a commitment to their community to promote healthy living and collaborating with other partners to magnify their impact. Expect loads of games, tons of information and buckets of fun.

Dodgeball Tournament (Age 16 and over)
Friday, April 30 - Saturday, May 1
Join us for a weekend of old school fun. Play will be organized in a round-robin format and will take place at the Biddeford Ice Arena. We will play by official dodgeball rules and encourage a fun, competitive atmosphere. Team registrations will be taken until Monday, April 26 and the tournament schedule will be posted April 28.

Summer Camp Open House & Family BBQ

Have you already registered or are you still looking for a summer camp experience for your children? Attend our camp open house and family BBQ. Experience all that our camp has to offer and meet our 2010 summer staff. Camp Sokokis offers a variety of activities such as:

Practical Parenting Series
During this series a Parent Educator (a mom herself) from the Parent Resource Center leads a discussion and offer tools for effective parenting including but not limited to: building self-esteem, communication skills, positive discipline, and stress management techniques for today’s parent. Classes are open to all parents, including foster, single, step, adoptive and non-traditional parents. Class to be held at YMCA Child Care Center (189 Alfred St, Biddeford)

Just For Dads
During this series Bobby Dion a Parent Educator (a father himself) from the Parent Resource Center leads a discussion with Dads on the following topics: What kind of Father do you want to be? Are you speaking the same language as your children? Learn esteem-building, positive discipline and stress management techniques for today's Dad.

Enrichment Programs
Lifeguard Training Program (Ages 15 and over)
Professional CPR, First Aid, AED, and Lifeguard Training are certifications received upon successful completion of the course. Employment opportunities are available at the Northern York County Family YMCA to those who excel in this class.
Pre-Requisites:
* Minimum age of 15
* Swim 300 yards continuously
* Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit water without using a ladder or steps, within 1:40

American Red Cross Babysitting Training
(Children 11 and over)
Looking for a fun class that will teach you skills to last a lifetime? This care-giving course includes preparation for job interviews, choosing safe and appropriate activities and toys, diapering and feeding infants, and responding to choking or bleeding emergencies. Does not include certification in CPR or First AID. Our Spring schedule consists of two opportunities to participate in this class. The class is 6-hours in length.

Infant/Child/Adult CPR and AED

Kayak Rolling Clinic (Ages 18+)
Are you interested in learning to roll your sea/whitewater kayak, improve your Eskimo roll or learn another rolling technique? Bring your boat or use one of ours to try you hand at the ultimate self-rescue. You must demonstrate an effective wet exit before the class begins. These are drop-in sessions.
