The Manta Rays YMCA team is a great way to develop a life-long activity, create lasting relationships and have fun while learning good sportsmanship.  Practice attendance and meet participation is encouraged, but not mandatory.  Compete with your own age and gender, but participate with boys and girls of a variety of ages.  Swimmers looking for additional competition may opt to enroll in the USA swim organization.. Participants must be able to swim at least 2 competitive strokes for at least 25 yards.  Northern York County Family YMCA membership is required.  USA Swim registration fee, team uniform, and meet fees are additional.  Monthly fees are based on a 5-month season.  Group assignments will be based on age, skill and self-discipline.

Manta Ray’s Spring/Summer Team
The Manta Rays swim team is a great way to develop a life-long activity, create lasting relationships and have fun while learning good sportsmanship and the YMCA core    values: honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.  The spring/summer season is a good way to “get your feet wet” and try out the team or stay in shape for winter teams.  There are no mandatory practice requirements. Beginners are encouraged to attend 2-3 days a week, while advanced swimmers are encouraged to attend 4-5 days a week. YMCA membership is required.   Participation in the spring/summer season consists of   opportunities to swim in at least 2 YMCA meets. Swimmers who would like more competition can enroll as members of USA swim, which offers 3 to 4 additional meets. Approximate age groups are listed below. If interested in joining the team, contact Lia  Langeveld at 283-0100 x48 for an evaluation or with any questions. Practice Schedule (April 28-July26)
Blue (8 and under): Mon, Wed, Fri; 5:15-6pm
Red & Juniors (Ages 9-13) Mon-Fri; 6-7:15pm
Seniors (Ages 14+) Mon-Fri: 3:45-5:15pm

Fee:
Blue Group: $150/summer
Red, Juniors, & Seniors Group: $210/summer
